Since the start of the semiconductor lighting project in 2003, the Ministry of Science and Technology has supported the technological innovation and industrialization of semiconductor lighting in the field of scientific and technological research plan and 863 plan new materials, and China's semiconductor lighting industry and technology have made significant progress, initially forming a relatively complete R&D and industrial system from upstream materials, midstream chip preparation, downstream device packaging and integrated applications, and entering a stage of rapid development.
1. Great breakthroughs have been made in key technologies for industrialization. The LED manufacturing technology with the enterprise as the main body has made rapid progress, and the light efficiency of the power chip package completed by the enterprise industrialization line has reached 80~100lm/W. The power white LED packaging has reached the international advanced level. The power silicon substrate LED chip with independent intellectual property rights has a luminous efficiency of 78lm/W after packaging, which is at the international advanced level.
2. The industry has begun to take shape, the industrial chain is becoming more and more complete, and the market application is at the forefront of the world. By the end of 2009, there were more than 3,000 LED enterprises in China. Among them, there are more than 40 upstream epitaxy and chip manufacturers, about 1,000 midstream packaging enterprises, and 2,000 downstream application product manufacturers. Private enterprises account for 85% of the total number of enterprises. In 2009, China's chip output &#118alue increased by 25% to 2.3 billion yuan, which was basically the same as the growth rate of 26% in 2008. In 2009, China's LED packaging output &#118alue reached 20.4 billion yuan, an increase of 10% from 18.5 billion yuan in 2008; The output increased by 10% from 94 billion in 2008 to 105.6 billion, of which the output &#118alue of high-brightness LEDs reached 18.6 billion yuan, accounting for 90% of the total sales of LEDs. At the same time, from the perspective of product and enterprise structure, there has been a great improvement in China, and SMD and high-power LED packaging have grown rapidly. In 2009, the output &#118alue of semiconductor lighting applications in China reached 60 billion yuan. Despite the financial crisis, China's semiconductor lighting industry in 2009 still showed a contrarian upward trend, the industrial scale increased to 82.7 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 20%, is expected to reach 100 billion yuan in 2010.
3. The industrial development environment is becoming more and more perfect. From the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2003 to launch the semiconductor lighting project in 2003 and the "Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Lights" project in 2009, to the recent development and Reform Commission and other six ministries and commissions jointly issued industrial development guidance, as well as the post-crisis era of the country proposed to cultivate strategic emerging industries, all show that the government is actively promoting the development of China's semiconductor lighting industry. Under the guidance and support of government policies, with the improvement of device performance and the embodiment of energy-saving effects, China's semiconductor lighting industry will enter a period of rapid development, with huge market potential, which will drive industrial upgrading. In order to promote technology integration and innovation, accelerate the industrialization of achievements, and strengthen industry-university-research cooperation, the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the Alliance) has built an industry-university-research cooperation platform through the establishment of industrial R&D funds, the organization of major Olympic demonstration projects, the holding of innovation competitions, the coordination and promotion of standards, and the establishment of patent pools, which have improved the efficiency and level of technological innovation and promoted the implementation of major projects. In order to support the pilot work of "ten cities and ten thousand lamps", the alliance has completed the implementation rules for the supervision and inspection of LED road lighting products, tunnel lights, and road and tunnel lighting products, and the technical specifications for LED road lighting products in cold regions. In addition, the alliance has cooperated with national testing institutions to regularly release product testing data, which provides a scientific reference for the local reasonable setting of the performance indicators of demonstration application products, and is doing preliminary work for the next step of releasing the catalog of stereotyped products recommended to the local government with energy-saving effects. The alliance also researches and formulates the national semiconductor lighting patent strategy, researches and deploys the patent network, explores the operation mode of the patent pool, and provides decision-making support for relevant departments through technical standardization and standard patenting. The work of the alliance has expanded the vision of domestic semiconductor lighting development, attracted great attention from the international community, and had an important impact on the development of domestic industries.
Through the implementation of the national semiconductor lighting project, China's semiconductor lighting industry has established an important position in the world, especially the concept of "promoting scientific and technological innovation through application, playing the role of science and technology in supporting economic development, and promoting energy conservation and emission reduction" displayed by "Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Lamps", which has had a huge and far-reaching impact at home and abroad. In addition, China is a major country in the resources of key raw materials for semiconductor lighting, which can ensure the sustainable development of the industry. The investment intensity and risk of the semiconductor lighting industry are much lower than those of the microelectronics industry, which has the characteristics of technical and labor-intensive, suitable for China's national conditions, and can drive employment on a large scale.
